Two aspects of Saturn in Aries

By Melanie Reinhart

Saturn “descends” in Aries, opposite the “ascendant” in Libra. I am very interested in the planets that are traditionally said to be “in the fall”, so let’s look at the possible difficulties and how to work with them.

From the outside looking in, there can be a feeling of being an “exile.” Perhaps an almost childlike sense of anxiety, weakness, inadequacy or inadequacy, and indeed, experiences from our past lives may indicate that you are calling for new understanding and inclusion.

It can mean the feeling of “starting from scratch” every time, but never feeling like an adult. Even if we have proven ourselves many times! Moving forward can make you feel nervous, slow, and sticky.

With Saturn in Aries, we can tend to overcompensate in an Aries way, trying to overcome these weaknesses. Undoubtedly, we can now see on the world stage many pseudo-heroic displays of (false) power, haste and haste, aggression and counter-aggression, intimidation, courage and division.

How can we honor this energy without unconsciously falling into these “fallen” collective patterns? Perhaps by acknowledging our feelings of weakness, insecurity or timidity. Sitting with them gently, waiting to see what would come up. It requires courage and protection, as well as Arian virtues!

Mars and Saturn have an interesting relationship that comes from our traditions. Mars (ruler of Aries) is “exalted” in Capricorn ruled by Saturn and Saturn is “descended” in Aries ruled by Mars.

You are invited to think about it, perhaps playfully. . . think about these dynamics and feel them. Do they “land” anywhere on your body?

Check which houses of your horoscope are ruled by Saturn and Mars. The issue shows that good and benefic (exaltation) comes from the energy of Mars, intelligently ‘ruled’ by Saturn.

During some stages of physical labor, the mother may be told to “breathe, push”! This can be a good tip for “birth times”. In this way, we too can develop humility and perhaps feel that we are a part of all and the infinity to which we are connected. Appropriate actions may flow, but “does gently”.

This potentially harsh combination also creates stories of restoring balance and alignment, honoring unbridled and raw instinctive energy, and devoting it to noble causes, from a spirit perspective; discipline and self-control that lead to overcoming obstacles with gentleness and noble efforts.

If you have any combination of these two planets in your horoscope, allow a conversation between them in your journal and see if you can accommodate them both. How do they relate to each other? Or create a tale that includes both characters.

Mars and Saturn meet every two years, these themes can intensify. The dates before and after show the beginning of the end and the beginning of the end of the familiar Pisces/Aries sign. Think about the date 2024 and note the 2026 connection level and where it falls in your chart to identify relevant themes.
