Sect is a basic concept used in Hellenistic astrology, but it has been revived in the last 30 years by modern astrologers through translations of ancient texts.
The purpose of this lecture is to provide a broad overview of the sect, first to determine how widespread this concept was in ancient astrology, and then to show how it works in practice through chart examples.
