Pluto transit to your Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven or IC

I’ve had a lot of people with Pluto cross the corner of their chart lately. It’s such an isolating transit, I thought I’d do this so people going through it can have some company right now!

One disclaimer: I use EQUAL houses. This is exactly what I mean by “corners of your chart”. I’m referring to Pluto transiting the angles of your chart, where the angles are the same as your Ascendant.

Pluto’s transit through the corners of the chart is always dramatic and life-changing. For example, when Pluto crossed my midheaven, my life changed so much that I had to live underground for about ten years. Me! Sociable, open person.

Before this transit, I would have always lived in the light. I was registered in the phone book when I was 17 years old. Suddenly I ceased to exist in public life (10th house). Not even that, I’ve been sleep deprived for about ten years.

I know someone who is a Virgo with a Sagittarius Moon. He is a lively, kind, active person. When Pluto transits his ascendant, he is involved in a motorcycle accident that amputates his leg and leg below the knee. He had a business with an office in an open loft above the ground floor of a large open space where his operations were located.

I watched him climb the stairs on one leg, wondering how he would manage after that accident. He had a family with legs or no legs. I think it was.

Not everyone has a Pluto transit to a corner of their chart in their lifetime, but some people do it twice. Provided I live until 2021, I fall into this group. That’s when Pluto crosses my Ascendant.

Update – I am updating this post, in 2024, Pluto will transit my Ascendant. I was destroyed by this transit. For about two years I felt “empty” as a person. It looks like a human intestine.

I liken it to a forest on fire. Nothing, for a while. But now, as I begin to rise from the ashes, new growth appears. This is a classic Pluto story. However, I can’t say that I liked it. I like to think, but I prefer sunny days!

In summary, Pluto moving into a corner of your chart destroys the structure of your life…there is a period of emptiness, after which you re-emerge and flourish.

Update in 2026 – Pluto is 8 degrees above my Ascendant and I feel this transit is behind me. I am stronger than ever. I feel cleansed and come back with so much clarity. I don’t want to go back, but I admit that the “raw” life is comfortable for me. I don’t know if anyone else feels the way I do.

Have you ever had Pluto transiting a corner of your chart? what happened
