The Hierophant and the Eight of Cups
We have a New Moon in Taurus this week and our cards combine a message of wisdom and support. We have been in a period of profound change, and this week we continue the journey with the guidance of The Heirophant and the Eight of Cups.
The cards call us to see the routines that tire us, the commitments we have missed, or the advice of others that does not suit us. We’re really looking for habits that ground and support us, and we step away from parts of our lives to keep the peace.
Our first card this week is the Hierophant, a card of wisdom and exploration. We are committed to learning, growing and testing. We are ready to go to the next level and shed the old roads that no longer serve.
Many wonderful people have come before us who have discovered peaceful ways of life. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel or go through it alone. They have found answers to many questions of life and we can learn from their experiences.
Be open to teachers in any form. It can be in a book, a song, or an epitome of wisdom. You may already know this person, but their spirit will touch you deeply this week. The Hierophant calls us to seek guidance from our teachers, ancestors and angels.
Keep your eyes open for clear signs that will point you in the right direction. Be ready to accept everything around you. The call of the Hierophant is rising and the universe is speaking to you.
Our next card is the Eight of Cups. It often refers to a feeling of stagnation, where we lack the energy and joy we need. It tells us that we don’t have to stay in hollow places to keep the peace.
The number on the card is turned away from the glasses. He questions his connection to the life he has created and wants to be alive and inspired. He wants to choose the path that corresponds to his true spirit.
The Eight of Cups calls us to change the way we think. It wants us to stop at the finish line and where we want to be in the future. Instead, he asks us to be present for our journey and where we are now. It wants us to indulge ourselves and enjoy small, sweet experiences along the way.
Under the Eight of Cups, we slow down to listen to ourselves and the universe. We shut up and focus on our true feelings beneath the surface.
Let’s write down what we need or lack in our lives and what steps we can take to achieve it. But at the same time, should we consider changing our mindset to be more present, find the good in each day, and even add a little whimsy? How can we bring more joy into our lives right now, even if our current situation isn’t what we want it to be?
The Eight of Cups calls us to begin a journey on a new path. It is full of acceptance of our imperfections and feels deep and intimate. This path is more confusing and the path is winding, but when we walk it, we feel fully alive.
Mantra for the week: I was allowed to go beyond what was once right.
