Episode 294 features a discussion with astrologer Israel Ajose about the meaning of the Moon in astrology and some of the different ways in which the Moon is included in the western astrological tradition.
This is the first in a new series of episodes about the meaning of each planet, and I decided to start with the Moon because it is the closest celestial body to Earth.
To ground the episode in astrological tradition, we read several different passages to see how ancient and modern astrologers have described the meaning of the Moon in astrology.
We then used this as a jumping off point for further discussion and to look at some of the different techniques that use the Moon as a focal point in western astrology.
The passages we read from various astrologers included Vettius Valens, William Lilly, Reinhold Ebertin, Robert Hand, Richard Tarnas, and Demetra George.
Israel Ajose is a practicing astrologer from Great Britain who President of the London Astrological LodgeThe oldest astrological society in the English-speaking world, founded in 1915 by Alan and Bessie Leo.
