“…How do you protect yourself from bad energy that isn’t so obvious, or bad energy from others at all (without making such “dramatic” decisions like cutting them off)? We were very good friends for a long time. It’s funny that this is the first time I’ve done this to people. I’ve had bad luck with people being jealous of me throughout my life, and I’ve paid the price for it many times.
How do you deal with other people’s bad energy that you didn’t cause or caused, but still affects you negatively?
Knowing that I have an 8th house, a girl in a similar situation sent me this note, which I have shortened and edited for clarity. This girl ended two 10-year friendships because her friends let her down in undeniable ways. Gas lighting, mostly. He could see it. For the sake of argument, let’s assume that he read the situation correctly.
He is asking if it will be like this or how it should be. I think it might be, but I’m willing to explore it and ask others to weigh in.
To answer his specific question, ultimately you protect yourself by amputation. So what he’s really asking is, can I live with this?
You can live with it, but I’m not sure why you would if you had a choice. If you work with someone like that, you’re stuck. If you can hang out with someone who hates you and get away from it, I would. Note that the person may not even realize that they hate you. It is unconscious,
Yes, you can use their negative energy! But there is no downside. Negative energy is everywhere! Why invite him? Why bring it home?
People in the 8th house should be comfortable with the idea of making other people uncomfortable. It also helps you realize that you don’t want a million friends. You are too private for that.
This is difficult when parts of your graph are “social”. I have this problem. But the truth is, you look shady to most people, even if you’re not dark. You can’t control it. You can’t control others! There is no cure! People start liking you or your veneer. But your true self annoys them. I’ve been through this a million times!
Eventually, you’ll realize that you were meant to have multiple friends. TRY TO SAVE THEM.
Over time, you will realize that you must have very little, otherwise it is impossible. Sorry, but this is what I learned.
Can anyone else weigh in?
