Episode 298 features further discussion with astrologer Rob Bailey about prejudgment considerations and their role in horary astrology.
This is a continuation of episode 296 where I talked about the interview with Sue Ward pre-sentence considerations In the work of 17th-century astrologer William Lilly.
Even though the episode with Sue was really comprehensive, I did so much research on the comments in preparation for that interview that I felt there was more to say.
So, after recording the interview with Sue, the next day I sat down and recorded the interview with Rob, which was originally supposed to be a bonus part of the film. The Random Astrology Podcast is only available to patrons, but it went over so well that I decided to make it public.
The discussion with Rob culminated in a wide-ranging two-hour discussion where we begin by talking about the actual horary chart that Rob made for Leisa a few years ago and how well it illustrates the focus of this question.
We then used it to explore what was the underlying meaning of the points given by Lilly and other traditional astrologers, to determine the root or radicalness of the questions, and why this was important to some astrologers.
During the discussion we also touched on a number of other topics such as consultation charts or interpretation of thoughts, Lilly’s resources for some meditations and whether you can use the whole house of signs for your horary.
We’ve also spent some time discussing Lilly’s second, less well-known treatment of the reasoning presented in Book 2. Christian Astrology combined with a complex of aphorisms, the relationship between reasoning and aphorisms.
