In episode 263, astrologer Rayver Bear joins the show to talk about approaching astrology and intersectionality as a framework for working with clients and the astrological community.
Intersection is a term that was introduced for the first time in a legal context Kimberle Crenshaw in 1989explaining that people can experience multiple forms of discrimination at the same time.
Since then, the term has been expanded to understand how the intersections of race, class, gender, and other characteristics intersect and how this affects power, privilege, and access in society.
At the Northwest Astrology Conference in May, Bear gave a talk on the use of intersections in astrology, and I invited him to join me on the podcast to talk about the place of intersections in the astrological community today.
