Creating a companion star and popular astrology app

Making Star Star and Popular Astrology App

Episode 286 features an interview with astrologer Banu Guler about the popular astrology app he founded, Co-Star.

Co-Star is an app for iPhone and Android that calculates your birth chart and provides some basic interpretations as well as daily transit notifications.

The app launched in late 2017 and quickly became one of the most popular astrology apps in the world, with Co-Star estimating that about 20 percent of young people in the US have downloaded the app.

Despite its popularity, the app has also drawn criticism from within the astrological community, from the accuracy of some of the limits to questions about how much astrologers were involved in its creation.

Last month Banu impromptu Ask me something topic on the astrology page on Reddit to answer some questions about the app.

I tuned in to the AMA myself and asked some questions, and I was pleasantly surprised by the response, asking Banu if he would like to come on the podcast to talk about the history of the app and settle some of the controversy.

It was a very interesting two-hour conversation in which we talked about various topics.
