In episode 409, astrologer Gary Lorentzen joins the podcast to talk about the astrology of the AIDS pandemic and how its timing relates to the Saturn-Pluto cycle.
In this episode, we explore the AIDS pandemic from a simple astrological perspective, but then we also discuss it in terms of its impact on the astrological community.
We begin by noting the parallel between the January 2020 Saturn-Pluto conjunction at the beginning of the Covid pandemic and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction at the beginning of the AIDS pandemic in the early 1980s.
We then follow the 40-year Saturn-Pluto cycle and focus on how major turning points during the AIDS pandemic occurred during squares and oppositions.
We also talk about the pandemic in terms of its impact on the astrological community, the astrologers who died of AIDS in the 1980s and 90s, and how their loss set the community back decades.
Gary approaches the topic from the perspective of both a seasoned astrologer and a gay man who has lived through the pandemic and witnessed its effects.
