On March 10, 2026 at 11:30 PM EST, Jupiter stations at 15º05′ Cancer and begins the final phase of its transit through the sign of Cancer. After being retrograde from November 9, 2025, the Lord of Abundance continues to move forward, giving us the opportunity to integrate all the changes that have taken place over the past months. Jupiter remains in Cancer until June 30, inviting us to deepen our ability to embrace emotional honesty, make heart-to-heart connections, and share the truth we need and feel.
The movement of Jupiter is especially important for people born with Jupiter-ruled cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), as well as with personal placements in Sagittarius and Pisces. As Jupiter moves direct, they are asked to act on the insights they gained during the retrograde and direct their lives towards what is right for them and what they need. During the final months of Jupiter’s transit through Cancer, they have the opportunity to deepen their emotional self-awareness and ability to be honest about their needs and feelings.
It is also called the Supreme Benefactor or the Lord of Abundance. In astrology, Jupiter rules the processes of expansion and growth, as well as deductive learning. This planet is associated with physical and philosophical long-term and long-distance travel. Observing what Jupiter, ruling Sagittarius and Pisces, traditionally means, is about the impulse to seek purpose in life, to direct our lives according to our personal truth, and to adopt a belief system that gives us direction. Jupiter is ultimately about faith and the desire to believe that more is possible for us.
Cancer, the first water sign of the zodiac wheel, represents our first encounter with the world of emotions. It is a sign related to our past, childhood, family and home experiences: Cancer is nurturing and caring, motherhood and motherhood, neediness and neediness. This sign ultimately teaches us to be our own mothers and access a sense of safety and security that is independent of anything external.
Jupiter spends about twelve months in each Zodiac sign, and its transit through Cancer began on June 9, 2025. The past months have invited us to honor the wisdom of our emotions and recognize the importance of being honest with ourselves and others about what we feel and need. Jupiter’s journey through the sign of Cancer has encouraged us to deepen our awareness of our emotional self and connect with our soul’s truth. This transit directed us inward, to the source of wisdom within us.
From November 9 Jupiter retrograde offered us a way to examine, re-examine and reframe our beliefs about emotions, needs, vulnerability and sensitivity, as well as to define home, family and belonging. This transit inspired us to question the assumptions that affect our relationship to feeling, expressing, having needs, and being vulnerable.
Jupiter retrograde, especially in Cancer, is a period around inner expansion, a time to engage in inner work and deepen emotional self-awareness. Growth during this time is not visible from the outsideloud or clear. When Jupiter seems to move retrograde in the sky, we are encouraged to turn inward and reexamine the internal structures, beliefs, and assumptions that determine our emotional response to external reality.
Jupiter’s retrograde time through Cancer gave us an opportunity to get to know ourselves better on an emotional level. It was an opportunity to understand how our worldviews and belief systems affect our attitudes toward our needs, feelings, and vulnerabilities, our ability and willingness to express them, and our ability to care and nurture, nurture, and care for others.
As Jupiter slowly slows down to prepare for a change in direction, something within us is calmer and more accepting of the subtle changes within ourselves and the collective realm. Restoring Jupiter’s progress is an invitation to start acting on the internal shifts that occurred during retrograde.
During the post-shadow phase of this transit, Jupiter travels through retrograde-activated degrees for the third and final time. This is a time to further integrate and clarify the meaning of the events and inner changes we have experienced in the past months. The post-shadow phase of this cycle lasts until June 6When Jupiter reaches 25º09′ of Cancer, the degree in which retrograde begins. Until then, we are still experiencing the echo of the last retrograde and are being asked to take action in our outer lives to improve our alignment with how we have changed in our inner lives.
Jupiter’s direct placement in Cancer is an opportunity for us to make sure we are acting on what we really need. The insights gained over the past months must now be expressed and shaped in our outer lives, and over time we will have a clearer sense of what direction to take. Plans related to domestic matters, emotional dynamics and family relationships will move forward more smoothly. As Jupiter continues to move forward, we are asked to follow the emotional truths uncovered during retrograde and expand our ability to give and receive love.
The remaining months of Jupiter’s journey through Cancer will encourage us to open our hearts a little wider and strengthen our faith in the healing power of vulnerability. This combination of energies highlights the importance of deepening our emotional intelligence and self-awareness, and reminds us that sustainable growth begins with rooting.
