Claiming peace over power struggles

Closed doorClosed doorHi Elsa

Both my daughters have a hard Sun/Pluto aspect at 0 degrees! Their father also has Scorpio in Aquarius/square Pluto in Sun, but more widely.

Ever since my firstborn was born, we’ve had power struggles with other people. For example, over property, income, working hours, language, name, jewelry. I have cut many people out of our lives because they did some things…not good..

Am I too much? Are there too many others? Will my daughters grow up and be superfluous to others?

I worry that their lives will become a lifelong struggle with others or that they will become too cruel. Am I cruel for setting boundaries? I didn’t know. I need any advice. What should I be aware of? I don’t know what to ask.

Signed, another Greek warrior

Hello, Fighter! You’re not much, and you’re certainly not cruel. Cruel people don’t lose sleep over whether they are cruel or not.

Being a mother often creates a primal, protective hypervigilance. Your nervous system may say: “I am responsible for this child’s survival, so I must win every resource battle.” Rather than living in a war zone, you are better off creating boundaries that protect the temple.

The battlefield requires constant noise, defense and revenge. The temple requires only a locked door. Lower your cortisol levels at home. Moving from protection to detection. Quiet borders and constant battles. No more, “Mother’s Scorched Earth.”

For starters, the next time a power struggle comes up, give yourself 24 hours to think about it. It’s for you, but you’re also modeling it for your daughters. Keep your feelings in check. Show them that they can handle their intensity.

The real power is quiet and comes from the core. You can’t get along with someone and get out of a bad situation without fighting them first. Practice low-energy responses for troubled people. “This is not open to discussion.” Do not cast pearls before swine!

Teach your daughter that their energy is valuable. Show them how to channel it into positive and productive things for themselves and others.

Oh! Your girls aren’t “too much” either. They are unique individuals with creative (solar) power (Pluto) and a lot to offer the world. I can say this for sure because the thought of Pluto taking every sun person out of my life makes me sick to my stomach. Your daughter generates energy. Teach them to manage. Foreigners can do their own business.

What advice would you give this mom?
