How to read a birth chart without birth time

How to read a birth chart without birth time

In Episode 270, astrologers Chris Brennan and Leisa Schaim discuss how you can use natal astrology to interpret your birth chart even if you don’t have a birth date.

Since the 1st century BC, Western astrology has focused heavily on the use of timed birth charts, and natal astrology has many techniques that can only be used if you know the exact time of a person’s birth.

Although the time of birth is usually recorded on a person’s birth certificate in most western countries, not everyone knows or can obtain their own time of birth, meaning there are some methods that simply cannot be applied to their chart.

In this podcast, we aim to discuss how to work with a person’s birth chart even if their birth time is unknown, and what we’ve discovered along the way is that there’s a lot you can do without knowing your birth time.

Preliminary issues

  • First of all, we should start by explaining why the time of birth is important.
  • Western birth astrology focuses on knowing the time of birth.
  • Time of birth is needed to calculate Ascendant or Ascendant sign
  • From the ascendant, the houses that determine the areas of life are calculated.
  • Other techniques such as lots or Arabic parts depend on the time of birth
  • By extension, some timing techniques like zodiacal release take time
  • Even the basic method of annual prophecy requires an ascendant sign
  • If a person is born close to the cusp, the Sun can change signs in one day
  • The moon moves about 13 degrees per day, so signs change every 2-3 days
  • The rising sign changes every 1-2 hours
  • Original word for Ascendant In the horoscope or hour mark
  • A horoscope is any horoscope that uses an ascendant sign

  • Trying to find your birth certificate
  • Baby book
  • Family Bible
  • Order your original birth certificate or a copy from the state
    • Get a birth certificate
    • The state sometimes creates a digital copy that may not have time
  • A birth certificate is usually more accurate because parents’ memories are unreliable
  • Even if you can’t find the time, see if you can narrow it down to what part of the day it is
  • Try to build a time machine
  • If most of these fail, try the following steps

      • (We forgot to mention this issue in the post)
  • We prefer to use the lunch schedule (set the schedule for 12:00 on the birthday)
    • Because then you know it can only be 6 degrees below the Moon
  • Signs and aspects are correct, but ignore the houses
    • House placement depends on ascendant and time of birth
    • Also, ignore Lot of Fortune and other lots

Ways to interpret premature birth

  • The zodiacal signs in which the planets are located should be very stable
  • Pay attention to the aspects between the planets
    • Both by aspect sign and by degree of aspect
