In episode 290, astrologer Ronnie Gale Dreyer joins the show to talk about the early history and meanings of the nodes in astrology in both Western and Indian astrological traditions.
As Discussed in Section 127In the late 20th century and early 21st century, the nodes were associated with a person’s past and future life in modern Western astrology, but if you look back more than a century, these associations are absent in the tradition.
So the crux of this discussion is, if the nodes are not related to past lives, what do they mean in ancient astrological traditions?
Ronnie is the author of the book Vedic Astrology: A Guide to the Basics of Jyotishand she is also a Sanskrit scholar currently working on a translation of a 4th century Indian text on the application of astrology to women’s lives.
Together we set out to explore and discuss the early history of the nodes in eastern and western astrology.
