They don’t have time to care because they just don’t care, anyway. Your emotional needs don’t matter, especially if it doesn’t benefit them.

2. “I know how you feel.”

I’ve practiced saying something different to people who are struggling with something. Because no matter how many problems I go through, they are my problems, problems that are fully shared with no one else. Yes, as human beings we often experience similar situations, but we should never pretend to know another person’s feelings. We don’t.

Someone who is not indifferent to you will always say this. If you have chronic pain, they say:

“Yeah, my back hurts sometimes too. I get it.”

This is true even for those who do not suffer from chronic pain. If you say so you are depressedcan say “Yeah, I’m sad too”. Do you understand what I mean?

3. “Calm down.”

People who are offended because of what you said cannot rest. A person who is not indifferent to you will quickly discard this short phrase so that he does not have to delve deeper into your crisis.

4. “Don’t worry about it.”

It’s also annoying, and it’s like saying: “Calm down.” Sometimes people don’t understand when they say the wrong thing. Yes, some people mean well. However, some throw that statement out there to diminish any real action.

Telling them not to worry about their problems is a way to get them to stop bothering you with your problems because they could care less about them.

5. “Just being honest.”

This statement often followed by some criticism. Unfortunately, criticism usually hurts you or attacks your self-esteem. Someone who doesn’t care about you will criticize your appearance or accomplishments after you are proud of something.

It’s just their way of being mean, with no consequences because they don’t care how it affects you. They only care about being able to say whatever they want without being held accountable for their statements or actions.

6. “I think you’ve grieved enough.”

It has several variations. For example, sometimes they may say:

“I think you’ve cried enough” or “You’re so dramatic.”

All of these statements mean the same thing: they don’t care about your feelings. An insensitive person uses these phrases to stop talking about you or a situation that hurts you. The simple reason is that they don’t care and they have better things to think about spinning around.

Let me be clear: your feelings matter, and there is no time limit to feeling what you need to feel in order to heal.

There are other indicators of people who don’t care about you. If you try to explain yourself, they will ignore it. Apathetic people are not interested in truth or justice because they really don’t like you; some even hate you.

They drag you into long arguments with no resolution, waste your time, and make you feel worse than before. This is another one form of manipulation.

The first step in dealing with this type of person is to recognize them for who they are. Then you can let them know why you are seeing this behavior. You can only fight by knowing your enemy. You can only heal by understanding your enemy’s motives and your own truth.

You know who you are, so don’t listen to people who don’t really care about you. I’m sure others will care. Focus on the positive side of your life and it will help you a lot.
