On March 3, 2026 at 6:34 AM EST, a total lunar eclipse will occur at 12º51 Virgo. This event represents a moment of release, purification, and karmic cleansing that invites us to free space in our lives and align more deeply with our Soul’s path. This lunar eclipse on the South Node invites us to release things that are not conducive to our growth, unsustainable for our bodies, and negatively impacting our well-being.
The total eclipse of the Full Blood Moon in Virginia will be visible, albeit partially, from Canada, the United States, Central and South America, Australia, Asia, Antarctica, the Arctic regions, Eastern Europe, and islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. This event is meaningful for everyone, but it is felt more by those of us born with a personal placement around 12º of mutable signs. (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). They experience significant changes and final moments in one or more areas of their lives: a chapter is coming to an end and it is a time of reflection, release and integration. These people are asked to understand what is important to them, to adapt to it, and to let go of things that have become heavy, unnecessary or throw them out of balance..
We invite you to watch our YouTube energy refresher video with Nina where she walks us through the powerful energies of the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo.
Lunar eclipses are intense, powerful, and variable full moons that occur when light rays meet near the nodes of the Moon, the intersections of the Ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun around the Earth, and the orbit of the Moon.
During a lunar eclipse, the Earth is aligned with the Sun and Moon in such a way that it temporarily covers the full or partial full Moon. What is fully illuminated briefly becomes obscure, giving us the opportunity to turn inward and question what we know for sure. The current Lunar Eclipse is total, increasing its intensity and transformative potential.
Lunar eclipses are powerful boundaries and culminations: realizations, accomplishments, and endings of fate or long-delayed feelings in many people’s lives these days. What happens during an eclipse is never random and is related to a deeper evolutionary process. These events ask us to release what has been completed and to trust that whatever is ending is making room for something more harmonious. A lunar eclipse reminds us that change is inevitable, invites us to believe in something beyond our personal desires, and encourages us to trust where life is leading us.
The current Lunar Eclipse is happening at the South Node of the Moon, the point in the Moon’s orbit of our past, our karma, where we come from, what we know, what we are familiar with, and what we subconsciously aspire to. The emphasis with South Node Eclipses is release and completion. These events catalyze the process of cleansing and clearing and ask us to clear space in our lives, to let go of things that no longer serve us. Often times, feelings of déjà vu kick in at this point, and we may feel like we’re reliving something we’ve already experienced, or find ourselves in a situation where we’re revisiting lessons we thought we’d already learned.
This eclipse allows us to become aware of emotional reactions, defense mechanisms, and automatic patterns that once helped us survive but now limit our growth. Karmic confusions and attachments may resurface, asking to be recognized and seen for what they are.
The Full Blood Lunar Eclipse in Virgo refocuses our attention on how we live our daily lives and emphasizes that changes in our daily habits have the power to shape our entire reality. This eclipse can illuminate areas where we have overextended ourselves, relied on strategies to avoid overwork or overwork, or where perfectionism, overanalysis, and self-improvement help feed the illusion of being in control and prevent us from being at the mercy of forces greater than ourselves.
Virgo wants to optimize, refine, and maximize performance: At the South Node Lunar Eclipse, we are asked to see how our pursuit of perfection can keep us from learning the lessons we need.. Not everything needs to be fixed and not everything needs to be solved by us. This phenomenon helps us to understand that we are putting too much pressure on ourselves and its negative impact on our well-being.
During the lunar eclipse, physical tension, pain and various symptoms may appear, and our task is to understand how our body communicates with us and what it really needs. By trying to hold everything together, we can gain a new understanding of the amount of tension stored in our bodies and notice how this contributes to fatigue and exhaustion. Virgo rules work, service and health, and this eclipse is an opportunity to examine whether the way we work and serve, and ultimately our lifestyle, is truly healthy and sustainable for our bodies in the long run.
The Virgo Moon forms a harmonious sextile with Jupiter in Cancer, which retrogrades both the Sun and Mercury in Pisces. Jupiter’s activation supports our ability to trust the unfolding of life and inspires us to question the deeper meaning of any unexpected changes that may occur these days. A Moon-Jupiter sextile encourages us to prioritize what nourishes us and reminds us that true intimacy is built on emotional honesty, mutual care, and presence.
Meanwhile, Mercury, the ruler of this eclipse, is in retrograde motion in Pisces and makes a broad opposition to the full moon. It can indicate a general sense of confusion, disorientation, and difficulty understanding what we feel, feel, and feel through the rational mind. Communication may require additional care to avoid misunderstandings: The Mercury-Moon opposition highlights the difference between the logical and the emotional, the intellectual and the sentimental, and invites us to find common ground between these areas.
This retrograde cycle of Mercury allows us to resolve unresolved issues from the past and release mental or emotional baggage that we may have been unconsciously carrying. On these days, we may have the opportunity to have pending conversations, revisit old issues, complete unfinished projects, and reconsider previous decisions. Mercury retrograde in Pisces invites us to tune into the energetic and emotional currents of our daily situations and inspires us to pay attention to the symbolic meaning of our experiences.
At its highest expression, Virgo energy is intelligent, precise, loyal, and grounded in humility. This Lunar Eclipse in Virgo gives us an opportunity to return to this purity and our connection to the perfection of what is. We are invited to shed the layers of toxic perfectionism and hyper-criticism of self or others that hold us back, often stemming from past conditioning and unconscious shame. These days we have the opportunity to practice treating our bodies with more kindness, speaking more softly to ourselves, and changing our routines in ways that allow more room for flow and improvisation.
Around this time, many of us may experience change, culmination, and completion in the areas of work, ministry, daily structures, health, and healing journey. The shifts that are taking place are not random and they guide us to the next stage of our evolutionary process. This eclipse is an invitation to recognize what is no longer appropriate in our lives, what is undermining our well-being and what is holding us back from what is truly meant for us, and to have the courage to let it go, even if we do not yet see what happens next.
