Explaining Astrology to the Skeptic

Episode 383 features an interview between astrologer Chris Brennan and science journalist Abi Millar, in which Abi asks some questions about astrology from the perspective of someone who is skeptical but open-minded about the subject.

Abi is in the process of writing a book A void of spiritualityit explores a range of spiritual practices and explores how people make sense of life in the modern world and how this can be understood in the context of scientific thinking.

As a science reporter, Abi has taken a more skeptical approach to the subject of astrology, but said she hopes to strike a balance between skepticism and an open mind.

He asked me to be interviewed for the astrology section of the book, and I agreed on the condition that I record and publish the discussion as a podcast episode.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to record an episode of a conversation with an astrologer who is skeptical but curious, and to show how I personally answer some of the questions about astrology that naturally arise in this context.

In a way, this is a continuation of a similar approach I took in episode 288, called Explaining astrology to non-astrologersand if you like this episode, I recommend checking it out as well.
