Not all forward movement feels like progress—sometimes it feels like pause, confusion, or even loss. Now that we’ve passed the equinox and find ourselves in the middle of Aries season, the urge to push forward can be strong. After the strong astrological weather in February and March, the flow of events can be a little more. However, there are a few features in today’s Full Moon chart that can feel like a drag, or at least a slower start, when it comes to moving forward.
First, Mercury and Mars are still in Pisces. These two planets can have a strong influence on our progress. A fluid and sometimes evasive sign of Pisces, concrete plans can be more difficult to implement.
Additionally, today’s chart features an important T-square connecting the Sun in Aries, the Moon in Libra, and Jupiter in Cancer. A T-square is an aspect pattern that represents tension and difficulty. However, I like to think of it as a kind of turning coal into diamonds. Although T-squares can cause nervousness, they often promote critical thinking and necessary adaptation. They demand engagement – you can’t ignore them. While this may appear as excitement, there is also creative potential here if you develop patience and persevere.
Where relationships are being tested
In addition to the theme of moving forward with patience and diligence, the dynamics of relationships are strongly emphasized in today’s chart. The polarity between Aries and Libra can be understood as an axis of relationships: Aries represents individuality and the pursuit of one’s own desires, while Libra represents harmony, compromise and the ability to understand the other’s point of view.
There is also an applied square between Venus in Taurus and Pluto in Aquarius. This fixed square can create a fundamental power dynamic in the relationship. Venus in Taurus may prefer comfort and convenience, avoiding deeper scrutiny. However, Pluto in Aquarius challenges this position and suggests that uncovering unconscious material can ultimately create more fertile ground for the long-term health of our relationships.
A legend to reflect the moment
Considering the dynamics of this diagram, the myth of Ariadne, Theseus, and Dionysus comes to mind. It’s a long and complicated story, so we’ll focus on a small window that reflects the present moment.
Focusing on the T-square, we can imagine Theseus as the Sun in Aries. In this story, he is the hero who defeats the Minotaur in a labyrinth beneath a palace in Crete. He is goal-oriented and proactive, often making decisions based on personal needs.
Ariadne is represented by the Moon in Libra. While Theseus is rewarded with recognition for defeating the Minotaur, it is Ariadne who hatches the plan behind the scenes. He collaborates with her, but does not receive the same recognition. While Theseus stands out as a hero, Ariadne’s identity is defined through relationships – she is identified as the person who helped her.
Their dynamics reflect the tension of the Aries-Libra poles. Ariadne leaves her home in Crete to follow Theseus on his journey. She compromises and sacrifices for the sake of the relationship, while Theseus moves forward without compromise of his own.
The breaking point
The crisis point is when they reach Naxos and Theseus leaves him behind. Ariadne faces the consequences of overinvestment and losing herself in relationships. Meanwhile, we can also see disorientation reflected by Mercury and Mars in Pisces – confusion, disorientation and emotional stress.
I like to think of it as a turning point for him. Through deep loss and betrayal, she confronts the part of herself that gives her strength so easily. We can imagine him in a state of deep meditation, reconnecting with his core self. This process reflects the Venus-Pluto square where deeper emotional truths surface.
Then we meet Jupiter in Cancer, who is depicted as Dionysus – the god of fun and high experience. Dionysus finds Ariadne after being alone for some time. They fall in love and through this connection he is elevated to divine status.
Rather than seeing this as Ariadne simply transferring her energy from one relationship to another, we can understand it as a pivot from conditional, external love to a broader, more unconditional form of connection. In this sense, Dionysus represents not only a partner, but also a union with his divine essence.
In this way, the T-square becomes the tension needed to move the story forward and stimulate growth. Through patience and integration, Ariadne not only recovers, but rises in her perspective.
