In this section, we discuss with astrologers Pallas K. Augustine and Chris Brennan how the IC level in all the houses of the sign acts as a sensitive point floating in the lower half of the chart, and it imports the signs of the 4th house and integrates them with all the houses of the sign it enters.
While IC is traditionally associated with fourth house themes of home, parents, and roots, in the Whole Sign House system, the IC level can actually move into different sectors of the chart, often falling into the third or fifth houses.
We will explore the astronomical difference between the fourth whole sign house and the degree of the IC, and how the IC acts as an importer of the fourth house signs into the house it is placed in and harmonizes the themes between these two houses.
To explore this topic, we asked listeners how the placement worked in their lives when the IC fell into an entire sign house other than the 4th house, and spent much of the episode looking at examples of ICs in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th houses.
We will also discuss the role of the IC ruler and how its placement can alter these meanings, and how this approach can help reconcile some of the differences between Whole Sign and Quadrant House frames.
