I have met several Aquarius and Leo couples where the topic of expression can become a heated debate, especially when it comes to the dominant color scheme of their wardrobes.
With the five planets in Aquarius and the Leo Moon opposing them all, the themes of this pole are especially strong on today’s Full Moon.
As always, it’s important to look at the entire chart to understand where you may fall on this spectrum, especially if you have a significant Aquarius or Leo placement.
That being said, I’ve known plenty of Aquarians (hats off to traditional Saturn rulership) who would be happy with an all-black wardrobe. On the contrary, I know many Leos who are unique, dazzling color pop in their everyday clothes.
If we examine the details of this polarity, much of it is based on the concept of identity and self-expression. The desire of a lion is to stand out from the crowd – to be a true self. Although Aquarius’s desire is to blend in with the crowd – not as a way to hide, but as a way to experience “group think”, like how a flock of birds act together.
Monochrome and Technicolor Expression
In the show wednesdayone of the main relationships is between Wednesday Addams and her roommate Enid. There are many scenes in their shared tent, highlighting the striking visual contrast between Enid’s bright, multi-colored decorations and Wednesday’s minimal monochrome aesthetic.
While there are some serious Scorpio or Pluto vibes on Wednesday, depending on how you work with these archetypes, I see this dynamic as a clear symbol of the Leo-Aquarius polarities.
On the show, Enid clearly and unashamedly expresses herself. Wednesday, on the other hand, is often engaged in a creative project—whether she’s painstakingly writing her novel or playing the cello. Actually, he is extra creativemore than his peers. But his motivation is different. His approach is cautious. He keeps his novel secret and protective. Instead of using art primarily as a means of self-expression, it becomes an act of self-education.
Almost like many Aquarian memes it seems allergy in focus, this discretion paradoxically makes them stand out even more in their own way. This is another topic we are looking at wednesday. The more he tries to behave himself, the more he ends up becoming a kind of classmate hero and unexpected best friend.
