The sun at 13° Capricorn | Moon Cancer at 13°
During today’s full moon, all the planets from the Sun to Jupiter occupy the pole between Capricorn and Cancer. This arrow often creates symbolism around parenting dynamics or parenting archetypes. In a traditional sense, this polarity has a compositional, nurturing, and compassionate signature – associated with archetypal care.
However, today’s energy has a twist. Not only is the Sun between Venus and Mars, but the Moon is also valid for conjunct with the enlarged Jupiter, but they are there as well. four planets are out of bounds today: Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars.
When I consider these energies together, I am reminded of one of the lesser known archetypes associated with Capricorn – the Greek god. Pan.

Pan, god of rustic mountain wildlife
A symbol of Capricorn energy, Pan is depicted as a half-man, half-goat creature. Unlike the traditional, more Saturnian image of Capricorn, Pan is a god known for frolicking across the wild pastures of the Peloponnese in mainland Greece. It is instinctive, embodied, and often driven by earthy, animalistic desires. This offers a markedly different expression of Capricorn energy, which is usually associated with methodical planning and deliberate action.
Another characteristic of Pan is his association with music, especially rustic folk music. You might think of Pan as the inner folk musician of the Greek pantheon. In classical depictions, he is often seen playing the pan flute or panpipes.
Pan is also known for his incredible physical endurance. He could run for long periods of time without tiring, and if that wasn’t impressive enough, he was said to be able to teleport between Mount Olympus and the mortal world.

Associations with Capricorn, Cancer and today’s out-of-bounds planets
If the connections between Pan and today’s full moon chart aren’t clear yet, let’s break them down.
Starting with Capricorn, Pan’s goat-like form clearly reflects the symbolism of Capricorn, although Capricorn is traditionally represented as a sea goat. Pan’s hybrid nature still reflects the energy of this finite, instinctive being. We also see that Capricornian endurance is expressed through Pan’s ability to run relentlessly. And while Capricorn is often not associated with superficial wildness, there is a deeper connection to earth instincts and an appreciation of the rustic and unknown.
The influence of Cancer, especially with the conjunction of the Moon with Jupiter – can speak even more strongly about the intuitive and fluid nature of Pan. Pan is not a number associated with restriction or ban. Cancer’s organic, emotional energy, combined with Jupiter’s expansive influence, reflects Pan’s instinct to follow desire wherever it may lead.
Out-of-bounds energy may be the most direct symbolic link to Pan in today’s chart. Pan’s unfettered, instinct-driven nature fits seamlessly with planets that operate outside conventional boundaries. This is especially true with the Sun conjunct Venus and Mars, both of which are out of bounds. Many of Pan’s myths involve the pursuit of nymphs in the name of desire. These pursuits are often aborted or never lead to real connection. This can be a meaningful topic to reflect on today, especially if you find yourself drawn to unusual or out-of-character desires.
Although these energies may require discretion in social or romantic matters, they are open to creative exploration. One of the most supportive ways to work with astrology today is creative production and artistic expression.
